Backyard Baseball '10 (Wii) vs. DDR Extreme 2
In this match up we have to great games. One that I have been a long time fan of and one that I once had dream of getting. Although there is a few years separating the two games release dates, I will judge them on the way they were like when they came out. The two games are veterans of the series. They both have hours of entertainment. They both held my attention and were one of those games I couldn't stop playing. BB brought out the side of me that loved baseball and was one of the best sport games I played. I got '10 out of my love for the previous ones. It really had improved and quickly showed me that it truely was still a force to be reckoned with. DDR was somnething that I played at daycare when I was young. I loved it and begged my parents to get it for me. I loved playing and would play it for hours on end. I truly found it fun. Out of the two games i have from the DDR seires i think this one is the best. I think that the battle should start though so let me start with the one player.
DDR has an okay but addictive campaign. Its extremely simple play songs and if you do well you get more songs. There's not much to it. Also the songs you unlock are also unlocked for multiplayer. This makes the single player essential to play. This campaign differs from the others. Instead of just doing good on the songs on a menu like multiplayer, there's a bracket thing. All you do is choose a song on one branch of the bracket and play it. This helps a lot because say you just can't beat one of the songs then you can just move over to the other and continue on (NOTE: the choosing of the songs will differ the songs you unlock). Also there are great hidden songs to find so try every song for maybe a secret passage. BB also has an amazing one player mode. Not only can you make your own team and play a season with them, you can play tournaments, and randomized pick up games. It really keeps a player around with the one player. Also by getting achievements you can unlock new players. You also trade and add free agents. Also you can make your own player. There seems to have no end. Not only that but there's great co-op. You can see how polished it is. I think both of the one player modes are great and it is very close but I think that BB has a little bit better one player mode.
Multi player is a pretty good feature in DDR. DDR has an easy to navigate multi player and you get to play some great songs. This however isn't as entertaining as the one player mode. The multi player still has plenty of songs to choose from and a great screen display and very easy to see. It only has that though. There is not much to be said but that it is a pretty good multi player mode but not truly great. One plus is that it is so simple. It truly is okay. BB has a great multi player. You can have a co-op campaign with any of the one player modes. You can also face off in a game and be on the separate teams. You still have the ability to choose your team or just get random. I found this to be a great advantage for my friends and I. It made nearly everything multi player and one player. This helps when your alone or with friends just a great multi player. After not much thinking I found that BB was the winner of multiplayer.
After carefully thinking this threw I chose the obvious winner. The winner........... is going to be announcent after this break. JUST KIDDING! The winner is Backyard Baseball '10.
The final score was..... Backyard Baseball '10 6.5 and Dance Dance Revoluton Extreme 2 ( Wow thats a mouthful) 3.5
